The assessment process begins with a telephone consultation so that we can learn about your specific concerns about your child's development and answer any initial questions you may have. We will then schedule an evaluation time for your child; initial evaluations are typically 30-90 minutes in length, depending on the child’s areas of deficit. During your child's evaluation, we will use both standardized and non-standardized assessment tools, as well as observations and interview with the parent, in order to determine the child's unique communication needs and develop an appropriate therapy plan. Following the assessment, the family will receive a detailed evaluation report with recommendations and goals for therapy if appropriate.
The therapy plan recommended for your child will be based on the results of the initial assessment and your child's specific communication needs. Most of our clients attend therapy once or twice per week, and sessions are either 25 or 45 minutes in length. Length of sessions and frequency are determined based on your child’s needs and your particular insurance plan. We provide both teletherapy and in-office sessions. We are happy to collaborate with other professionals involved in your child's care as appropriate.
We strive to make our therapy sessions FUN! Parents are welcome to sit in on their child's therapy sessions to observe and collaborate with the clinician.
Our clinicians are in network with most insurances. Please contact our clinic to find out if we are currently accepting clients with your particular plan.
